COVID-19 UPDATEs

HOORAY! WE ARE OPEN

MASK POLICY UPDATE

An overwhelming majority of our clients support optional masking, so beginning on APRIL 1ST we will no longer require masks in our gym.

This decision is in line with CDC guidance and is further supported by the low caseload number in our community. Many families responding to the survey asked that unvaccinated children continue to wear masks to protect immuno-compromised children that attend classes.

Dynamic fully supports any gymnasts who continue wearing masks after April 1st.

All of our coaches and staff are fully vaccinated but some may choose to continue masking. Dynamic Gymnastics is committed to keeping our staff and gymnasts safe, so we will continue to maintain a sanitized environment, encourage social distancing when able, and keep our lobby closed to avoid overcrowding.

We ask that you continue to use caution and good judgement if your gymnast isn't feeling well or has been exposed to the virus, as we want to keep everyone here as safe as possible!

Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Facility

Disinfectants vs. Soap

We understand that you may have some questions regarding our COVID precautions and we are happy to try to answer all of them.  Please take a moment to look over the policies and procedures we have set in place so you and your child will be prepared for what to expect and to ensure all of the children and our staff members will remain safe and healthy while in the gym.

Drop-Off & Pick-Up Procedure

Parents and guardians are asked to park and escort their child to the entrance of the building.

Parents and guardians will pick up their children at the rear of the building to adhere to the social distancing guidelines. The rear of the building has two small pink/purple colored awnings, if you see a building with a purple & teal stripe you are at the team building and have gone too far.  We ask that parents escort their children back to their cars for safety reasons. In the event of inclement weather, simply remain in your vehicle and form a line to pick up your child.

Gymnastics Safety

Below is a list of precautions we are taking while coaching gymnastics:

  • The floor has been measured out and marked into a “grid system” so every child has their own space. Other events will have markers so children will know where to be so they can practice gymnastics at a safe distance.
  • We encourage excellent hygiene for all of our athletes and staff, hand sanitizer is available at any time.
  • Coaches are permitted to assist athletes by spotting, if you do not wish to have your athlete spotted please advise.

Viewing Area

Unfortunately, only our preschool parents are allowed in the gym to limit the number of people and exposure to the facility.  The DW Spectrum app will provide access to 3 cameras in the team gym and 6 cameras in the main gym.  Our classes will be held in the main gym only, but you can also view what’s happening in our team gym too!  If the cameras appear to be offline, try restarting the app, and give the cameras about 10 seconds to reconnect.

Should you need to speak to your child’s coach or a staff member, please email the front desk.  You can also call 703-738-6000 to speak to someone over the phone.

Personal Protective Equipment

Coaches and athletes are required to wear masks at all times. Please ensure that the mask is well fitted. Should your child need to take a break, they will be permitted to remove the mask for water breaks or if the masks hinders ability to properly preform a skill or drill. Please email frontdesk@griffingymnastics.com if you have questions.

Below is a list of additional policies and procedures we will have in place:

  • Staff and gymnast attendance will be taken at our front door for contact tracking purposes.
  • Any staff or gymnast who is experiencing flu-like symptoms, a fever, a cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing and digestive issues, loss of taste and smell or has had exposure to someone who has had any of these symptoms may not attend classes until 14 days after the fever or symptoms have ceased.
  • Doors, including the garage doors may be open to allow for fresh air circulation. Please do not enter.
  • Please avoid congregating of parents, coaches, staff and children in any areas including outside of the facility.
  • Water fountains are available to refill water bottles. Please have your gymnast bring a water bottle to limit use of the fountain.

 Exposure & Positive Test Procedure

Should anyone (gymnast or staff member) come in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, or test positive themselves, we ask that:

If an athlete or member in their household is experiencing symptoms, do not attend practice and monitor symptoms for 24 hours. If symptoms subside, the athlete may return to practice when they have been symptom free for 24 hours. If returning after 24 hours, the athlete must wear a mask at all times while in the gym for the following 5 days. While we understand the current difficulty in finding tests, we strongly urge you to get tested for COVID-19 to confirm they are negative.

If a member of an athlete’s household tests positive for COVID-19 the athlete must stay out of practice for the duration of the member’s 5 day isolation (symptom onset/positive test = day 0). If the athlete is symptom free after the 5 day period, then they can return to practice, but must wear a mask at all times while in the gym for the following 5 days.

If an athlete tests positive for COVID-19 the athlete must self-isolate for at least 5 full days. They may return to practice after their isolation (symptom onset/positive test = day 0) if they are completely symptom free. If returning after 5 days, the athlete must wear a mask at all times while in the gym for an additional 5 days. If the athlete continues to experience ANY symptoms past day 5, they must isolate for another 5 day period or be cleared by a doctor to return to practice.

If an athlete or coach is identified as being in “close contact” (meaning they were within 6 feet of an infected person for more than 15 minutes over a 24-hour period), and the athlete or coach is fully vaccinated, they must wear a mask at all times while in the gym for 10 days and are encouraged to get tested on day 5. If the athlete or coach is identified as being in close contact and is not fully vaccinated, they must quarantine for 5 full days after the exposure and can return if they have not experienced any symptoms. The athlete must wear a mask at all times while in the gym for 10 additional days and are encouraged to get tested on day 5.

Dynamic Gymnastics does not currently have restrictions for athletes/staff traveling domestically.

Cleaning: Our gym is staffed with assistants to sanitize the gym, lobby and bathrooms to help prevent the spread of Covid-19.  They will be in charge of making sure the equipment is sanitized each day, bathrooms are also professionally cleaned after every evening.

We ask that you will help us by taking a moment to talk to your kids about the importance of social distancing, listening to directions and following our policies and procedures we have outlined. We understand that these policies and procedures are new and it may take some time to readjust.

However, blatant disregard will not be tolerated.  Therefore, for the safety of our staff and other enrolled children, your child will be immediately withdrawn for the duration of the month if they are unable to honor the rules, policies and procedures in a respectful manner.
